Northwest Bozeman has seen a ton of growth over the past several years. The addition of Bozeman’s second high school contributed to the number of people looking to live in this area. There are a handful of mature neighborhoods in this area such as Harvest Creek and Brentwood, however, most are new developments. Here are a few of the top Bozeman neighborhoods in this area
Flanders Mill subdivision took off during the Covid Pandemic! The large, modern new construction homes were exactly what everyone moving from out of state sought, and prices skyrocketed. Its proximity to Gallatin High School adds to its appeal and the 36 acres of dedicated parklands, common space, streams, ponds, trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The neighborhood consists of over 270 single-family homes and 195 multi-family homes.
Valley West is just a few streets north of Flanders Mill and is one of the more established neighborhoods in northwest Bozeman. Valley West is one of Bozeman’s largest subdivisions with over 1,600 units ranging from condos, townhomes, and single-family homes. The heart of this neighborhood is a large pond with walking trails, a stream, and a playground.
The Crossing is a small neighborhood in this part of town that backs to the 100-Acre Regional Park. It consists of only single-family homes which adds to the appeal for some home buyers. It’s a quiet neighborhood and the homes that back to the park with views of the ponds are real gems!
South Bozeman is hands down one of the most desirable places to live in Bozeman. The proximity to Hyalite Canyon and downtown, plus mature neighborhoods is hard not to love! In the last couple of years, development has exploded on this end of town!
Westfield Subdivision is a quintessential old Bozeman neighborhood. There is a central park, mature trees, and beautiful homes on large lots. It’s tucked away from busy roads but still easy to get to nearby schools, parks, and downtown. The neighborhood is made up of only single-family homes.
Alder Creek is located between Sacajawea Middle School and Morning Star Elementary School making it a desirable area for families. There are walking trails throughout, Alder Creek runs through the neighborhood, plus lots of open space and a playground. The architectural designs are modern homes and have a cohesive look throughout the neighborhood.
Right next to Alder Creek is Allison Sub. This new neighborhood is near Morning Star Elementary School and Montana State University. It also offers easy access to downtown Bozeman and S.19th Avenue.
Gran Cielo, a 49-acre subdivision on Bozeman’s south side is a great new community. There is a mix of condos, townhomes, and single-family homes all centered around a fantastic park. The homes are built by CP Haus, known for their high-quality construction and unique design. Gran Cielo is located right off of S.19th making it easy to get to Hyalite Canyon or downtown.
Home 40 is a new luxury subdivision on Bozeman’s south side. While it’s certainly not in everyone’s budget, if it is you won’t be disappointed. It features large lot sizes, mountain views, and tons of amenities. There’s a clubhouse with a gym, outdoor pool, community space, a pond, and miles of walking trails. It’s close to Hyalite and a quick 10-minute drive to downtown.
Hyalite View Estates is an established south-side neighborhood full of large, beautiful homes. Here you get the feeling of country living while still being conveniently close to everything Bozeman has to offer.
Heading in the opposite direction to the far north side of town finds many great neighborhoods near the Bridger Foothills. In this part of town, there are mostly established subdivisions with big Bridger views!
Spirit Hills is a desirable neighborhood nestled in the foothills of the Bridger Mountains. The homes sit on large lots with mountain and valley views. The sunsets from here are spectacular! Springhill Reserve is another neighborhood nearby. The rolling hills throughout the neighborhood ensure no view is obstructed. There are nearly 3 miles of walking trails and 49 acres of open space, a community pond and each lot is 1-2 acres.
Legends at Bridger Creek is located on your way to Bridger Bowl near the M and Drinking Horse trailheads. There are trails, an 11-acre park, 30 acres of open space, and Bridger Creek Golf Course just up the road. The neighborhood is made up of beautiful custom homes, most with a rustic modern look.
Downtown Bozeman is obviously a very desirable place to live made up of unique neighborhoods. South of Main Street is full of many large, historic homes. Willson Avenue is probably one of the prettiest streets in Bozeman when it comes to homes. North of Main Street used to have small, historic homes, but recent development is changing this part of town drastically. High-priced condos are shadowing the little homes, and many of those homes have been bought, torn down, and replaced with larger modern homes. The northeast part of downtown tries to keep up with its funky vibe but condos are popping up as it continues to become a popular place to live. We don't see development in downtown Bozeman slowing down anytime soon.
The growth of Bozeman has sprawled out to Four Corners and beyond with new neighborhoods all along Huffine and Jackrabbit. Falcon Hollow and Middle Creek Parklands are two big ones that are a perfect location just outside of town but not too far.
Elk Grove was one of the first neighborhoods to pop up in the Four Corners area and remains a super popular spot, especially for families. This large planned community has around 300 single-family homes along with great trails, a park, and a pond. It’s about a 15-minute drive to Bozeman
Gallatin Heights is off of Jackrabbit between Four Corners and Belgrade. This 319-acre master-planned community offers a variety of modern homes, 41 acres of open space, trails, and two community parks.
A couple of new developments to keep an eye on in Bozeman are Northwest Crossing and Blackwood Groves. Northwest Crossing is located near Gallatin High School and will feature a variety of residential units, parks, and open space, along with a commercial district that will feature restaurants, retail, and office space. Blackwood Groves, on the south side of town, is similar with a mix of residential and commercial. Both of these developments have broken ground and are sure to become some of Bozeman’s top neighborhoods.
