An outdoor apparel company named Beringia is opening its flagship store in Bozeman this summer. Beringia is known for creating functional, technical apparel that uses advanced fiber and fabric engineering. The store will be located at 610 N Wallace, just North of Wild Crumb.
Beringia was launched in 2019 by Robert Bernthal who also co-founded Duckworth, a well-known Merino Wool clothing company also based in Bozeman. In an interview, Bernthal explained how Beringia has made breakthroughs in developing performance-oriented fabrics and is proud to be using regenerated wool textiles that are made by hand without the use of harmful chemicals that many other brands use.
According to an article by Vanish, Beringia’s collection underwent 2 years of testing and design refinement in the Japanese Alps before release. The company is named after a submerged landmass that used to bridge the gap between North America and Asia.
Beringia is joining 3 other businesses that recently opened in the Wildlands building. Biome Slow Craft, Echo Arts, and Open Studio Collective. Outside of the Wildlands building, there are many other awesome businesses in this area. There is also more development coming down the pipeline, click here to learn more.
