With competition high and a limited number of skilled jobs available, it has been tough for professionals to find work in their field in the past. But, Bozeman is becoming known for its fast-growing tech sector that is continuing to provide more job opportunities for professionals in this field. That along with a couple of Montana's largest employers has changed the type of jobs found in Bozeman. The pandemic has also impacted jobs with more people working remotely. All of this has provided more job opportunities for those currently living in or thinking about moving to Bozeman.

Bozeman Health

Bozeman Health is the largest employer, with more than 2,400 employees and growing! As Gallatin County’s largest private employer, they have locations in Bozeman, Belgrade, and Big Sky.

Montana State University

Montana State University is Bozeman’s second-largest employer. For the past ten years, Montana State has been breaking enrollment records making it the fastest growing university in Montana. Montana State employs more than 4,000 faculty as well as 682 graduate teaching and research assistants. This growth is expected to continue as enrollment continues to rise.

Bozeman School District

With the growth of Bozeman, it is no wonder the Bozeman School District has become one of our largest employers. They have over 1,200 employees made up of teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators. There are two high schools, two middle schools, and nine elementary schools in the district.

Simms Fishing Products

Simms Fishing Products is the only U.S.-based manufacturer of fishing waders and is located in Four Corners just west of Bozeman. They have just under 100 employees.

Mystery Ranch is a backpack manufacturer in Bozeman. They began as Dana Design and have grown to a well-known and respected brand in the outdoor world. They have around 35 employees.

Tech is booming n Montana and Bozeman is at the center of this with several companies located in the valley. Oracle Corporation, the largest is a software company that specializes in database systems and cloud technologies. Schedulicity, the popular online appointment scheduling software is located in Ferguson Farm with over 80 employees. onX was created right here in Bozeman and now is the top digital outdoor navigation company with over 250 employees in Bozeman and Missoula. Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply

Murdoch’s began as a small ranch and home supply store in 1994 in Bozeman. Within a couple of years, they had to move to a bigger location and now you’ll find stores across Montana, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, and Wyoming.
