Even in the middle of winter, there is always a lot going on in Bozeman. The problem can be trying to figure out what and when! There are so many different places to look to see what's going on and easy to miss something. We've done the research for you and put together what we think is a comprehensive guide to Bozeman events for January and February. Whether your jam is music, charity events, family activities or sports, we've got you covered.
FREE family movie at the Ellen. The movie starts at 7 pm. No ticket needed, just show up and enjoy the show!
Bridger Bowl Birthday Celebration. It's Bridger's 63rd birthday, celebrate with $30 lift tickets if you show up in a carpool of 3 or more. We're betting there will be a few people calling in sick on Friday.
Pack the House Bobcat Basketball. This is the 2nd annual Pack the House game. All tickets and concessions are just $2. The game starts at 2pm and the Women's team will be taking on Sacramento State. If you haven't been to an MSU basketball game in awhile, this is a good one to make it to. The stands are full and the energy is high!
Bozeman Symphony 50th Anniversary Birthday Bash. We are so fortunate to live in a small town with such a vibrant symphony. Help celebrate their 50 years with a five-course meal, fine wines, exceptional music and a silent auction to support the symphony. It begins at 6 pm at the Emerson Cultural Center. Rialto's First Show! The much-anticipated opening of the Rialto is the 16th at 8 pm with Hippo Campus playing. We are so excited about this new (old) venue in downtown Bozeman. Their winter and spring line-up looks fantastic so there is no excuse to not go to a show! Click here for what's coming up.
Bozeman Winter Farmers' Market Fundraiser. Montana Ale Works will be serving small plates featuring local ingredients paired with Montana craft beers to benefit the Bozeman Winters Farmers' Market. Tickets are $40 each and there will be two seatings one at 5:30 and one at 7:30. Bozeman is lucky to have a farmers' market that continues through the winter months, so make sure to support it! Bozeman Winter Farmers' Market at the Emerson Center Ballroom from 9 am to noon. This is the last market of January. In February, the market's will be on the 3rd and 17th. Get local vegetables in the middle of winter as well as local spices, jams, teas and more.
Cat/Griz Basketball. Women's play at 2 and Men at 7 pm at the Brick. Go Cats!
Fly Fishing Film Tour at the Emerson. This is the 12th year of the tour and it's awesome that they are making a stop in Bozeman. Along with showcasing these fly fishing films they support the local fly shops wherever they go. Support our own Montana Troutfitters and Rivers Edge Fly Shop by buying your tickets at these spots. YMCA Snowball Event. Now, this sounds like one not to miss! It's a Glamping Gala, such a fun theme. There will be dinner, dancing, and auctions. There will be a kids room with full-service childcare for the kiddos that includes dinner, games, and crafts. Proceeds raised will support the YMCA's financial assistance program. MSU International Food Bazaar. This will be the 35th year of this event and it is a great place to celebrate diversity and try new delicious foods from over 20 countries. It is located in the MSU SUB ballroom from 4-7 pm. Tickets are $5 for adults, Students age 10-18 $3, MSU Students with ID are free and children under 10 are also free. Once inside food tickets are available for purchase to use at the food booths. There will also be music and dance performances. This is a great event for the whole family. Click for more information.
Reach's Have a Heart Art Auction. This is their 7th annual art auction and will be at The Commons at 6:30 pm. There will be beautiful artwork, appetizers, drinks, and music. Proceeds benefit the people served by Reach Inc. There is complimentary childcare for the first 25 kids registered. Tickets are $30 and can be bought online here.
Super Bowl Fun Run. Before you indulge in all the football junk food for Super Bowl Sunday, run (or walk!) this 5K to support The Bozeman 3 an amazing local non-profit that supports families dealing with pediatric cancer. It starts at the R Bar at 10 am on February 4th. There will be prices, a free beer (21+), chili bar, ice cream and cool prizes!!

Intermountain Opera, She Loves Me. There are so many opportunities to catch this delightful romantic comedy. It will be playing at the Rialto, which is even better! Click here for ticket information.
Sweet Tooth Ball. This is the 31st Sweet Tooth Ball, a fundraiser to benefit Bridgercare's new clinic. It is at The Commons at 7 pm and there will be hors d'oeuvres, desserts, music, dancing and a silent auction. Best part? All proceeds will be matched by an anonymous donor! Bozeman Symphony Free Family Concert. It is so cool that the symphony puts on a free family performance, it's the perfect opportunity to take the kiddos. It is only 50 minutes and is very family friendly. This year's theme is a Star-Spangled tribute. There will be two showings, one at 10:30 am and one at 1 pm. Big Sky Youth Empowerment Bingo Night Live. Okay, this is sure to be a super fun fundraiser! This will by BYEP's 7th annual bingo night and takes place at the Fairgrounds at 6 pm. It is for 21 and over, and benefits this wonderful organization. Come dressed in your favorite SNL attire and hopefully win some skis, snowboards, and gear!
The Phat Pack at the Ellen. This show is made up of three Broadway professionals and they are sure to put on a fantastic show. The show is at 7:30 in the beautiful Ellen Theater. Click here for ticket information.
Banff Mountain Film Festival. The festival will be at the Willson Auditorium and showcase the world's best mountain films. All proceeds will benefit the Bridger Ski Foundation. It will run for three days. Click here for ticket and show information.
Beyond all of these events, there is always something going on, Bozeman is just awesome like that. For live music check out the Taproom, MAP Brewing, Wild Joe's, Red Tractor Pizza, Lockhorn Cider, The Attic in Livingston, Norris or Chico Hot Springs. They all bring in local musicians on a weekly basis. There's also the Museum of the Rockies, the Children's Museum (check out their Free Friday Nights!) and of course the Verge for some theater.
