Nova Café Has Closed After 20 Years

On Mar 05, 2026

Summary: The Nova Café, a downtown Bozeman breakfast staple for more than 20 years, has permanently closed. Signs went up on the windows at 312 East Main in February announcing the closure.

The space changed hands a few times over the years, and the most recent owners had been experimenting with new hours before the closure. Then the permanent-closed signs appeared, and that was that.

What's Taking Nova Cafe's Place?

Saffron Indian Cuisine has moved into the old Nova spot at 312 East Main, one of two Indian restaurants opening in Bozeman right now, alongside Baadshah Cuisine of India over in Midtown. So far, Saffron has gathered rave reviews and seems to be a hit.

Main Street has seen a steady run of restaurants changing hands this year, from new ownership at longtime spaces to fresh concepts opening their doors. If you want the full picture, here are 7 new restaurants coming to Bozeman in 2026.

Nova had a good, long run, and we're definitely going to miss the Eggs Benedict.
