The south side of Bozeman has always been a desirable area of Bozeman, and for good reason! It’s close to Montana State University, the Museum of the Rockies, and Bozeman Health, it’s easy to get to Hyalite Canyon, and still close to downtown Bozeman. There are several established neighborhoods featuring lovely homes as well as plenty of new subdivisions popping up recently.

Here's our list of the best subdivisions in South Bozeman.

ALDER CREEK

LOCATION - South of Kagy off of South 3rd. From Alder Creek, it is easy to get to 19th Avenue via Goldenstein.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single-family homes and townhomes.

UNIQUE FEATURES - This high-end subdivision sits right next to both Morning Star Elementary School and Sacajawea Middle School making it a wonderful family neighborhood. MSU and the Museum of the Rockies are nearby and Hyalite Canyon is just a quick drive away.

TRAILS - Scenic trails and Alder Creek flow through the neighborhood.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - Open space can be found in the subdivision, perfect for the beautiful Bozeman sunsets.

HOA, COVENANTS - Yes.

WEST MEADOW

LOCATION - South 3rd to Graf leads you into the subdivision.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single-family homes

UNIQUE FEATURES - The contemporary, custom homes in this subdivision are beautiful. Bonus? The lots are larger too!

TRAILS - There are trails in the neighborhood and is near one of the Main Street to Mountains trails

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - In West Meadows, homeowners enjoy open space, trails and unobstructed mountain views.

ALLISON SUBDIVISION

LOCATION - South of Kagy near S. 19th and S. 3rd.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single Family homes.

UNIQUE FEATURES - Allison Subdivision is one of the southside's newest neighborhoods with brand new homes

TRAILS - The neighborhood has nearby trails

HOA, COVENANTS - Yes.

WESTFIELD

LOCATION - South of Kagy near S. 19th and S. 3rd.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single Family homes.

UNIQUE FEATURES - Westfield is one of the more established neighborhoods on the south side with large lots and mature trees.

TRAILS - The subdivision backs to some of Bozeman's best walking trails on the Main Street to the Mountains trail system.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - The homes sit on large lots and some homes back to open space.

SUNDANCE SPRINGS

LOCATION - South of Kagy accessible via Goldenstein and Graf.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single-family homes.

UNIQUE FEATURES - There are many beautiful homes in Sundance Springs! Many of them back up the extensive open space and trail system.

TRAILS - There are trails within the neighborhood and running along one side is an access point for the Main Street to Mountains trail.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - Abundant of open space and the wonderful Sundance Springs Pond.

PAINTED HILLS

LOCATION - Just southeast of Bozeman, off Kagy Boulevard.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single-family homes.

UNIQUE FEATURES - The Bridger mountain views from Painted Hills are outstanding! You get the feeling of being in the country, yet you are just a few minutes drive from the center of Bozeman!

TRAILS -There are trails within the neighborhood and many surrounding trails.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - The neighborhood is bordered on all sides by open space.

TRIPLE TREE RANCH

LOCATION - Southeast of Bozeman off of Sourdough Road.

UNIQUE FEATURES - Triple Tree Ranch is a premier Bozeman neighborhood. The views of the mountains and Gallatin Valley are incredible. Here you truly live in the country, while still just 10 minutes from downtown Bozeman.

TRAILS - Triple Tree Trail is one of the most popular in Bozeman with part of it meandering through the neighborhood and then continuing to forest service land and a beautiful overlook of Bozeman.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - Large lots and backing to forest service land mean lots of open space can be found!

MEADOW CREEK

LOCATION - Located just off of S.19th between Goldenstein and Kagy.

UNIQUE FEATURES - Meadow Creek has open space dedicated to outdoor activities, trails, recreation fields, a pond, and more. It's a wonderful neighborhood to find space for outside activities.

TRAILS - There are trails throughout the neighborhood.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - Plenty of open space, picnic areas, a recreation field, and a pond.

SOUTHBRIDGE

LOCATION - Directly off of S. 19th Ave between Goldenstein and Kagy.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single family.

UNIQUE FEATURES - From the subdivision, you get 360-degree views of the Spanish Peaks, Bridger, and Hyalite Mountain ranges.

TRAILS- Expansive walking trails throughout the neighborhood.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - The subdivision features open grassland parks.

GREENHILLS RANCH

LOCATION - South of Bozeman off of Cottonwood Road.

TYPE OF HOMES - Single-family homes on large lots.

UNIQUE FEATURES - Greenhills Ranch features Western architecture with modern amenities, a 3-acre lake, and fantastic views.

TRAILS - There are trails in the neighborhood and the location is very close to national forest land with abundant trails.

PARKS/OPEN SPACE - The lot sizes are large giving plenty of open space throughout Greenhills Ranch.

HYALITE VIEW ESTATES

LOCATION - Located off of S. 19th near the entrance to Hyalite Canyon.

UNIQUE FEATURES - Large lots with custom homes can be found in this great neighborhood. You are out of town, but the subdivision is located adjacent to South 19th Avenue so it is just a short drive to the center of Bozeman.
