Best Places to Watch Bozeman Fireworks
The biggest fireworks celebration is the Festival of the Fourth at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Every year this event is hosted by the Gallatin Empire Lions Club. This year the Lazy Owl String Band will be performing starting at 9 pm and the fireworks begin at 10:30. This is a free event and family friendly!
If you are looking to catch the fireworks show up close, but don't want to go to the fairgrounds, there are some surrounding parks that have a great view. Westlake Park or North Grand Park are a couple of great choices.
Another fun option to see all the fireworks going off throughout town is to get to a higher vantage point. Peets Hill is a short stroll that puts you at a nice spot to overlook the valley. On the other end of town is Snowfill Recreation Area, with benches at the top that have expansive views of Bozeman. With a little more hiking effort, you can head up The M or Drinking Horse and watch fireworks go off all over the valley. Just remember to bring a headlamp for the dark hike back down!
To make the Fourth of July a whole day event, head to the East Gallatin Recreation Area. You can swim and enjoy the beach all day, and stick around to catch the fireworks show from there. If you need to get out of the sun, head across the water to MAP Brewing for a beer and some food.
Speaking of beer, a rooftop bar is a perfect spot to watch the fireworks. We suggest the Rooftop Bar at the Crystal and the deck at the Bozeman Taproom as the best rooftop bars to watch the fireworks.
Happy Fourth of July!
