Summary: The City of Bozeman's official fireworks show lights up the Gallatin County Fairgrounds at 10 PM on July 4, 2026, free and open to the public. You can't legally light your own fireworks inside Bozeman city limits since the city passed Ordinance 2134 in 2023. But Bozeman has a city-run fireworks show that's grown into one of the best fireworks displays in the valley.
Where to Watch Fireworks in Bozeman This Year
The official show goes up at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, 901 N Black Avenue, starting at 10 PM on July 4. There will be a live music performance by the Lazy Owl String Band leading up to the showcase. It's run by the City of Bozeman and Bozeman Fire, and it's free to attend.
What's the Closest Spot to the Action?
Centennial Park puts you right under the fireworks show. Bring a blanket, get there early, and you'll feel every boom. It's the spot for anyone who wants the full sensory version of the show rather than a distant view.
Want a Higher Vantage Point Instead?
Peets Hill and the M both trade distance for a wider view of the whole valley, lighting up at once.
- Peets Hill: stay on the north side for the clearest sightline toward the fairgrounds
The M: farther off, but the payoff is a panoramic view if you're willing to hike down in the dark
Downtown Rooftops for a Different Kind of Show
If you'd rather watch with a drink in hand, the Sky Shed atop the Armory and the rooftop at The Crystal both put you above the crowds with a clear line to the fairgrounds. Expect both to fill up fast, this is the most social way to catch the show, not the quietest. The Sky Shed will also have live music!

Closer to the fairgrounds, Ponderosa Social Club has been building out its own Fourth of July street fair, with food, drinks, and a fireworks-viewing party to close out the night. The event will run from 2–11:59 p.m. according to their website.
