Summary: Sky Shed (24 W Mendenhall St) and AC Benchmark (110 N Tracy Ave) are the Bozeman rooftop bars open every evening this winter, both with fire pits and mountain views. Bozeman Taproom, the Crystal Bar and Bridger Brewing have rooftops too, but this time of year they open based on the weather.
Which Bozeman rooftop bars are open every night this winter?
Two downtown rooftops stay open nightly no matter what the forecast says, and both are built for cold evenings.
Sky Shed, 24 W Mendenhall St.

Sky Shed sits on the ninth floor of the Kimpton Armory Hotel, which was the tallest building in downtown Bozeman when the bar opened in October 2020. Glass walls wrap the whole room, so you get views of four mountain ranges even on a cold night, and there's a fire pit inside to warm up by.
Show up between 4 and 6 p.m. for Golden Hour. The menu has huckleberry cocktails like the Muley Huck, plus MAP Brewing's Midas Crush IPA. Once the sun drops behind the Gallatin Range, order the Sky Shed Old Fashioned.
AC Benchmark has the heated deck

110 N Tracy Ave. Benchmark sits six stories up on top of the AC Hotel, with a heated wrap-around deck, fire pits and views of the Gallatin Range. If you want to sit outside in the winter, this is the rooftop to pick. The kitchen does Neapolitan-style pizza, and seating is open, so you only need a reservation for groups of eight or more.
Happy hour runs 3 to 6 p.m. every day, with $8 select cocktails, $5 drafts and $2 off wine by the glass. Grab a seat by the fire with a Huckleberry Cosmo and a pizza for the table.
Which Bozeman rooftops depend on the weather?
These three open their rooftops when the weather permits, so call ahead this time of year!
- Bozeman Taproom & Spirits, 101 N Rouse Ave: an open-air deck a block off Main Street with fire pits and a beer list of more than 50 craft and draft beers, from local Montana brews to rotating picks from around the country. Bring a group and order a sampler so everyone can try a few.
- The Crystal Bar, 123 E Main St: a Main Street classic with a seasonal rooftop. The bar downstairs is open 365 days a year, so you're covered if the roof is closed. Keep it simple with a cold beer.
- Bridger Brewing, 1609 S 11th Ave: a rooftop patio across from the Montana State campus, made for pizza before a Bobcat game. Order the Vigilante IPA, which took top honors in the IPA category at the Montana Beer Awards.
