Spring is right around the corner and we've got a few ideas of how to fill the time until it actually makes an appearance! There's a lot happening this month, and with so many different places to look to see what's going on, it's easy to miss something. We've done the research for you and put together what we think is a comprehensive guide to Bozeman events for March 2018. Whether your jam is music, charity events, family activities or sports, we've got you covered.

MARCH 2ND

3rd Annual Tales from the Backcountry: Our Stories, Our Public Lands. The stories will come from hunters and anglers at this 3rd Annual Tales from the Backcountry and this event will benefit the Montana Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. The theme will incorporate stories from each speaker's personal relationship with public land and waters. The event will be at the Emerson in the Crawford Theater and there are opportunities to win outdoor gear and prizes. It begins at 6 pm with storytelling starting at 7 pm. There will be local Montana brews and tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Click here for more information.

Steep Canyon Rangers at the Ellen Theater. March is music month at the Ellen and the whole month is full of great musical performances. The Steep Canyon Rangers are a Grammy award-winning sextet. The show is at 7:30 pm. Click here for more information.

MARCH 3RD

Montana State University Men's Basketball. The Cats take on Weber State for their final home game at 2 pm

Ten Strings and a Goat Skin at the Ellen Theater. This acoustic power trio is sure to be a fantastic show. The show is at 7:30 pm, click here for more information.

Snowshoe Shuffle in Big Sky. This one is for all the dog lovers out there! This will be the 14th Annual Snowshoe Shuffle at Big Sky Resort that benefits the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter. Bring your pup and enjoy a torch-lit snowshoe hike, apres chili dinner and a raffle. Cost is $20 per person and registration begins at 5:30 pm. This is one not to miss! You can buy tickets here.

Bozeman Winter Famers' Market. In the Emerson from 9 am to noon. Come by for food, meats, cheese, farm fresh eggs, honey, hot breakfast and more!

Bozeman Symphony Collage. This symphony performance is unique to others in that it is fast-paced and choreographed to a brilliant light show. This is their 50th anniversary and they have teamed with the Symphonic Choir for what is sure to be a spectacular show. There are two shows, March 3rd at 7:30 pm and March 4th at 2:30 pm. Kids'N'Snow Weekend in West Yellowstone. If you are looking to get out of town with the family for a day, this is the event to check out! This is put on once a month and will be the last one for the season. Join other families to snowshoe with a Park Ranger, meet a live raptor, learn to ice fish or make s'mores over the fire. There are different activities each weekend and many are free. Visit kidsnsnow.org for more information about the activities for the March event.

MARCH 4TH

Grease the Movie at the Ellen Theater. Not only is Grease playing at the Ellen at 2 pm, it's the sing-along version! Come dressed as a Pink Lady or T-Bird and re-live this classic. This is sure to be so much fun.

MARCH 6TH

Wine Dinner at the Gallatin River Lodge. This sounds like the perfect evening to get out of a winter funk. The Gallatin River Lodge hosts Duckhorn Vineyards for a 4-course meal with wine pairings. The cost is $120/person for a lovely night of good food and wine. Call 406.388.0148 for reservations.

The Jive Aces at the Ellen Theater. This UK premiere band is putting on a show at the Ellen on March 6th at 7:30 pm.

MARCH 9TH

Free Friday Night at the Children's Museum. The second Friday of each month, the Children's Museum opens up for a free night of fun for the whole family. Bonus? They serve $1 pizza slices by Tarantino's. Can't beat that!

MARCH 10TH

Slushy Slalom at Bridger Bowl. Snowboard on Saturday and ski on Sunday, the best of the two timed runs wins. There are several age categories and the race will be the new banked GS down the natural gully below Slushman's Ravine. There will be trophies, medals, door prizes, music and more. Well-Strung at the Ellen Theater. This New York city based string quartet will play at 8 pm.

MARCH 11TH

Free Family Movie at the Ellen. Bring the kids to the Ellen to watch Finding Nemo at 2 pm.

MARCH 14TH

Dervish at the Ellen Theater. You get a little bit of everything with these musicians. Playing at 7:30 pm.

MARCH 16TH

Tumbledown House at the Ellen Theater. Check out this San Francisco based band at 7:30 pm

MARCH 17TH - HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY!

Run to the Pub. One of Bozeman's favorite runs and voted the #2 Best-in-the-U.S Half marathon by Runner's World! Pub 317 hosts this awesome Saint Patrick's Day 10K and half marathon and thousands of runners come each year. Each runner gets entered to win a trip to Dublin, a race shirt, pint glass, bottle opener, a cupcake and one beer! The race is 90% downhill and you get beautiful views the whole way. Even better than all of that? The net proceeds are donated to a local non-profit. Click here for more details.

St. Patrick's Day Party at MAP Brewing. Head to MAP to celebrate with five different stouts, limited edition t-shirts and corned beef and cabbage specials. Things kick off at noon!

St. Paddy's Party at Zebra. Bozeman's own Skavocado will be playing at the Zebra to celebrate St. Paddy's Day, starting at 8 pm.

MARCH 21ST

F3T Fly Fishing Film Tour in Big Sky. This is the original exhibition of fly fishing cinema and a one-of-a-kind performance. There will be two showings at the Lone Peak Cinema, 5 pm, and 8 pm. The show is free with a suggested donation of $10.

MARCH 23RD

Little Bear Antique Show at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. The show will take place March 23rd and 24th.

MARCH 24TH

Carve out Hunger at Bridger Bowl. This will be the 5th Annual Food Drive put on by Bridger Bowl and the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. For every 15 cans or pounds of food donated receive one voucher for a $25 lift ticket and an entry to win a 2018-19 Bridger Bowl Adult season pass.

De Temps Antan at the Ellen Theater. This trio will take the Ellen stage at 7:30 pm.

Chord Rustlers at the Emerson. The Chord Rustlers barbershop chorus will feature 100 local high school boys for this annual show along with the MSU based mixed chorus Rhapsody. Tickets are $18 for adults and kids under 12 are free. The show starts at 7 pm

SWMBIA Home Expo. This is the largest and longest running event of its kind in southwest Montana, so don't miss out. There will be booths from builders to home improvement suppliers. It takes place in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse the 24th and 25th.

13th Annual Cody Dieruf Benefit. This annual event benefits the many local families dealing with cystic fibrosis. The benefit will be at the Commons at 5 pm. There will be music, dinner and auctions with great prizes. Call 406.581.9002 for more information.

MARCH 30TH

MSU-Bozeman American Indian Council 43rd Annual Powwow. This is one of the largest in Montana. Things kick off the 30th at 6 pm and continue Saturday at noon and 6 pm. The events are free and a great experience for the whole family.

MARCH 31ST

Bozeman Winter Famers' Market. In the Emerson from 9 am to noon. Come by for food, meats, cheese, farm fresh eggs, honey, hot breakfast and more!

Beyond all of these events, there is always something going on, Bozeman is just awesome like that. For more live music check out the Rialto, Taproom, MAP Brewing, Wild Joe's, Red Tractor Pizza, Lockhorn Cider, The Attic in Livingston, Norris or Chico Hot Springs. They all bring in local musicians on a weekly basis. There's also the Museum of the Rockies, and of course the Verge for some theater.

Phew. That should keep you busy until spring actually arrives! Check back in April for more.
