We knew something was coming when we saw a longtime Bozeman business Bamboo Garden close its doors at the end of 2022. After that, their neighbor Genuine Ice Cream started posting on social media that they were looking for a new home. Now, plans have been approved for a new building at the corner of 5th and Main in downtown Bozeman.
Freestone on Main is a 6-story multi-housing building that will include 121 apartments and 900 sq. ft of retail space. According to a press release, the units will feature high-end finishes. The amenities will include rooftop indoor and outdoor lounges, a hot tub and sauna, a fitness and yoga studio, a pet spa, microbrew and coffee taps, a library, co-working spaces, ski and snowboard storage, and underground heated parking.
The developer, Reuter-Walton Development out of Minnesota has completed one other large-scale development in Bozeman, the Cannery Flats.
The project is expected to be completed in October 2024. We will update this post as we continue to learn more about this project.
