An application has been submitted to the city to develop a nearly 10-acre lot at 2121 W. Main Street. The lot is located just South of Kirk Park between N. 20th and West Babcock Street. Most recently this location was home to the Dollar Spree, that building has now been demolished.
The lot is owned by Caroll Companies, a real estate development company in North Carolina. The applicant listed on the application is Craig Pryde, an architect who specializes in multifamily residential projects.
The lot is divided into two parcels, with two different types of zoning. According to the application, the lot on the west side could be developed to include a 3 story building with "tuck-under" private garages. The east lot could include a 5-story building with a "wrap" style parking garage and retail outlot. The development could potentially include 584 residential units in total.
