Bozeman Halloween Events 2026: 10 Picks for Kids and Adults
On Oct 22, 2026
Summary: Bozeman Halloween events for 2026 fill the last two weekends of October, and downtown trick-or-treating moves up a day to Friday, Oct. 30. From a haunted summer camp out on Cottonwood Road to candlelit ghost tours on South Tracy, these are the Halloween plans we'd send our own friends and family to this year. Bring a coat, because Bozeman doesn't care that it's Halloween.
What are the Bozeman Halloween events for adults this year?
The five Bozeman Halloween events we'd pick for adults are Pour and Gore at Museum of the Rockies, the ghost tours at the Haunted Story Building, the Main Street bar crawls, SoDown at The ELM and Ballroom Dance Bozeman's Halloween party. The ghost tours only run four times, so buy those first.
Pour and Gore: A Haunted Masquerade at Museum of the Rockies
When: Friday, Oct. 30, 6 to 9 p.m. | Where: Museum of the Rockies, 600 W. Kagy Blvd. | Cost: $35, or $30 for members, 21+ (get tickets)
Museum of the Rockies turns the museum into a masquerade for one night, with mask-making, tarot and palm readings, spooky gallery tours and a celestial-themed planetarium show. Parlor games and selfie spots fill the 1890 Tinsley House, and one drink ticket comes with admission. Registration is required, and you can stay after for a screening of the 2004 "Phantom of the Opera" in Hager Auditorium (separate ticket).
Ghost Tours at the Haunted Story Building
When: Saturday, Oct. 24, first tour at 6:30 p.m. | Where: 14 S. Tracy Ave. | Cost: $25 in advance, $30 for the late show, 18+
For one night only, volunteer guides lead four candlelit small-group tours through a building once owned by the Nelson Story family and later home to Bozeman's Masonic organizations. The Montana Paranormal Research Society has documented activity there in past investigations, and you're welcome to bring an audio recorder for your own EVP session. Tickets cost $5 more at the door, proceeds go to Gallatin Valley HRDC, and you should expect stairs, uneven floors and low light.
Halloween Bar Crawls on Main Street
When: Saturday, Oct. 31, with crawls starting at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. | Where: Main Street | Cost: Varies by crawl, 21+
The Fright Crawl runs a daytime crawl on Halloween from 1 to 8 p.m., one wristband, four-plus bars and no cover, then a nighttime crawl starting at 7:30. It also hosts kickoff crawls on Thursday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Oct. 30. A separate crawl checks in at Bar Nine, 311 E. Main St., at 4 p.m. and includes a costume contest. Both are 21+, so line up your ride home before the first stop.
SoDown at The ELM
When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m. | Where: The ELM, 506 N. 7th Ave.
If you want to dance in your costume, electronic artist SoDown headlines The ELM on Halloween night, with Chozen and SUBBOOM opening. Tickets run through Logjam Presents.
Ballroom Dance Bozeman's Halloween Dance Party
When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 7 to 10 p.m. | Where: Tamarack Ballroom, Bozeman Senior Center, 807 N. Tracy Ave. | Cost: $20 per person
For a Halloween night out with a partner, Ballroom Dance Bozeman's Halloween Dance Party fills the Tamarack Ballroom inside the Bozeman Senior Center. Tickets are $20 per person, or covered by a Ballroom Dance Bozeman season pass.
Where can kids celebrate Halloween in Bozeman?
Kids can trick-or-treat downtown, get lost in the Bozeman Bale Maze, pick pumpkins at Rocky Creek Farm, walk through Haunted Camp Cottonwood with the lights on and collect candy at the Story Mansion. Downtown trick-or-treating is Friday, Oct. 30, not on Halloween day.
The Bozeman Bale Maze
When: Through Nov. 1. Wednesdays and Fridays 6 to 9 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Where: 1340 E. Valley Center Rd. | Cost: Free for ages 4 and under
This year's maze is a spider web built from 5,000 hay bales on Valley Center Road, between Bozeman and Belgrade. Little ones get their own smaller maze, plus hayrides, a mini train, corn bins and a bungee trampoline. The Bozeman Maze is open Wednesday and Friday nights, so you can walk it after dark with a flashlight.
Pumpkin Picking at Rocky Creek Farm
When: Through Oct. 31. Tuesdays through Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Where: 34297 Frontage Rd., east of Bozeman
Rocky Creek Farm has been part of fall in the Gallatin Valley since 1981, and the only way out to the pumpkin patch is by hayride. Back at the blue barn, you can watch apple cider come off the historic press and take some home. Gallatin Valley Botanical runs the farm, and its fall hours end on Halloween.
Haunted Camp Cottonwood, Lights On
When: Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24, lights on 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. | Where: Anderson Little Red School House, South Cottonwood Road and Pasha Lane
Anderson School's 8th graders have run this haunted house every year since 1992, and this year's theme is a gory summer camp at the Little Red School House, about five miles south of Huffine. The lights stay on from 5:30 to 6:30 for younger kids and anyone who scares easily. At 6:30 the lights go off until 10 p.m., which is the version for teens and adults. Tickets are on Eventbrite and nonrefundable.
Witches Night Out at the Story Mansion
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 | Where: Story Mansion, 811 S. Willson Ave. | Cost: Free
Every Halloween, Friends of the Story Mansion volunteers dress as witches and fill the grounds of the 1914 mansion with animatronics, ghouls and free candy. It's an easy first stop before walking the neighborhoods, and their own advice is that if it looks too scary, you can wait until next year. This year's times aren't posted yet (it ran 5 to 8 p.m. in 2023), so check their Facebook page before you go.
Downtown Bozeman Trick-or-Treating
When: Friday, Oct. 30, 4 to 6 p.m. | Where: Main Street, downtown Bozeman | Cost: Free
More than 100 downtown businesses hand out candy, and plenty of shop owners dress up too, since the Downtown Bozeman Association judges businesses for Best Dressed. WGM Group took first place in 2025 with a pirate theme.
Heads up: Main Street Closes Friday Afternoon
The City of Bozeman is closing Main Street from Grand to Church on Friday, Oct. 30, from 3 to 7 p.m., and no parking is allowed on the closed stretch, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. Any car still parked there at 3 stays put until 7, so move yours early or grab a spot on a side street and walk in.
However you spend it, most of this fills the last two weekends of October, so there’s room to do more than one. We’ll be out there too, coat and all.
