Best Things to Do in Belgrade, Montana - Bozeman Real Estate Group
BOZEMAN REAL ESTATE BLOG

Belgrade, Montana has long been considered a bedroom community of Bozeman, but with recent growth, we are seeing this change. Rather than residents heading to Bozeman for work, food, and entertainment, people are finding it in their own town. Whether you live there or are visiting the area, there is plenty to do in Belgrade Montana!

1. Visit Lewis and Clark Park

Right in the heart of town is Lewis and Clark Park. There are big trees to have a picnic under, a skatepark, and a playground. In the summer months, there is a splash park for the kids to cool off. A lot of Belgrade events, including the Thursday night Community Markets, take place in Lewis and Clark Park. With its central location, it is a great gathering spot for locals and visitors.

2. Grab a beer at Madison River Brewing

In Bozeman, there is no lack of breweries, but for the old school brewery experience, you have to go to Madison River Brewing. This no-fuss brewery is located in a nondescript area as you come into Belgrade. What you get here is a laid-back vibe and great beer.

3. Find a local event

Belgrade may be a small town, but when it comes to events, this community knows how to do it! Each September they have the Fall Festival and parade on Main Street. For the holidays, there is the Festival of Lights which is put on entirely by community volunteers. There is a Jingle Jog, holiday bazaar, live music, fireworks, and of course Santa. On Thursdays, in the summer you'll find Belgrade's Community Farmer's Markets at Lewis & Clark Park.

4. River Rock Pond

River Rock is a subdivision on the west side of Belgrade. Within this community is a great pond that you will find people enjoying year-round. Fishing and swimming in the summer and ice skating during the winter months.

5. Go fishing!

There are so many fishing options within a few miles of Belgrade. The East Gallatin is a popular spot with locals, as is the Madison. The Headwaters, a 20-minute drive , is where the Madison and Jefferson rivers converge to become the famous Missouri. If the fish aren’t biting, there are trails, picnic areas, and plenty of history to explore in this area.

6. Head to the Gallatin Speedway

The Gallatin Speedway is the place to be on Friday nights during the summer. There are various races that take place each weekend such as modified cars, street stocks and super stocks. This has become quite a tradition for many. Check their website for current schedules.

7. Check out the local dining scene

For a small town there are many great dining options in Belgrade. For breakfast, Rise and Shine Café is a favorite with farm fresh eggs, homemade jam and made from scratch sausage and gravy. There are plenty of lunch spots from Cosmic Pizza downtown to Chalet Market for a sandwich. The Local right on Main Street is a popular choice for dinner and Mackenzie River recently moved to a new location and is always a great spot for lunch or dinner.
