6 Best Playgrounds in Bozeman - Bozeman Real Estate Group
BOZEMAN REAL ESTATE BLOG

Bozeman is home to some of the best playgrounds in Montana, offering a variety of fun and adventure for kids of all ages. From nature-filled parks to innovative play structures that inspire imagination, these local playgrounds provide endless opportunities for outdoor fun. Here is our list of the best playgrounds in Bozeman for kids of all ages.

#1 Bogert Park

Located just a few blocks from downtown Bozeman, Peets Hill and the Bozeman Public Library, the Bogert Park playground is a great option for families with kids of all ages. Younger kids will love the playground with slides, swings, a balance circle, climbers, and more. There is access to Bozeman Creek where kids can play by the water or throw sticks from the nearby bridge. Bogert Park also has Bozeman’s only city pool, pickleball courts, an ice-skating rink in the winter, a bandstand, and a huge field perfect for running or playing soccer.

#2 Story Mill

The playground at Story Mill Park is one of Bozeman’s newest playgrounds – and it’s awesome! Story Mill Park offers a nature sanctuary, not one but two designated playground areas, a learning garden, pavilions, and more. There is a small playground on the west end of the park that is great for younger kids but the main playground is the real attraction. There is a grain elevator themed climber, a three-story tree house with two slides, wooden climbing areas, and a super long slide bit into the hillside. This playground will impress even the pickiest kids!

#3 Gran Cielo Park

We love the Gran Cielo playground because it has a pump track, rock climbing and bouldering area, and corn hole! While it does have a swing set, we can’t say this is the best playground for younger kids as the playground equipment is a bit more advanced and high off the ground in some places. But bigger kids will love this playground; don’t forget to bring their bikes so they can enjoy the pump track!

#4 Dinosaur Playground at the Gallatin County Regional Park

The dinosaur-themed playground in the Southeast corner of the Gallatin County Regional Park is amazing! There are countless climbing structures with ladders, tunnels, and slides that the kids love to explore. The dinosaur theme carries through the whole park with dinosaur sculptures, pictures, and even a dino-digging area. As parents, we love the separated “tot lot” playground area for little kids, as well as the fact that this entire playground is fully fenced! Photo credit: Yelp.

#5 Bozeman Pond Park

While the playground at the Bozeman Pond Park isn’t anything to write home about, we still love it for two reasons. One, the Bozeman Pond is really a beautiful oasis in the middle of Bozeman with little beach areas, ducks, and beautiful walking trails. Our kids love this playground because there is plenty of climbing with a rope wall and climbing rock. There is also a volleyball “beach” near the playground that if unoccupied can be the best giant sandbox for little kids!

#6 Valley West Park

The Valley West playground tops our list as the best playground in Bozeman. Why? Well, it’s got everything! The playground is multi-faceted with big slides, little slides, tunnels, climbers, and monkey bars. And that’s just the playground. Just next to the playground, there is a beautiful creek with easy access to the water where kids can play. In the summer you’ll often find kids floating down the creek in tubes! Just across Cascade Street, you will find Meyers Lake, a beautiful pond with a walking trail and several pavilions with picnic tables and a grill.
