Best Places to Watch Bozeman Fireworks
The biggest fireworks celebration is the Festival of the Fourth at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Every year this event is hosted by the Gallatin Empire Lions Club. This year the Lazy Owl String Jam will be performing starting at 9 pm and the fireworks begin at 10:30. This is a free event and family friendly!
If you are looking to catch the fireworks show, but not wanting to go to the fairgrounds there are some surrounding parks that gave a nice view of the show. Westlake Park, North Grand Park, and Centennial Park are a couple of great choices.
Another fun option to catch not just the big fireworks show but all the other ones going off throughout town also is to get to a higher vantage point. Peets Hill is a short stroll but puts you at a nice spot to overlook the valley. On the other end of town is Snowfill Recreation Area and the benches at the top give big views of Bozeman. With a little more effort head up The M or Drinking Horse and watch fireworks go off all over town. Just remember to bring a headlamp for the dark hike back down!
To make the Fourth of July a whole day event, go early and get a spot at the East Gallatin Recreation Area. Swim and enjoy the beach all day and then stick around to catch the fireworks show from there. Or if you need to get out of the sun, head across the water to MAP Brewing for a beer and some food.
Speaking of beer, a rooftop bar is a perfect spot to watch the fireworks. We suggest the Rooftop Bar at the Crystal and the deck at the Bozeman Taproom.
Happy Fourth of July!
